Easter Hunt

I really thought Jackson would enjoy his very first Easter egg hunt. But, he was in a horrible mood!
He sat on the ground and just ate the goldfish and fruit snacks out of 3 eggs...
And looked at me so devilishly if I tried to take his picture
Luckily Tyler enjoyed every second of it and he picked up the slack and got 2 basket's worth!
And was this excited every time he found one.
Even if it was on the grass, supposed to be Jacksons.
Or if we told him there might be a blue on in that tree right there.
Basket #1 and...
Basket #2. Courtesy of Jackson Clark.

Rocket Launch!

In between Conference Sessions, we went to Celebration Park to launch the rocket I got for Jeff. (I did some of my shopping for him at Hobby Lobby and was absolutely tickled that I could shop for him while I shopped for fabric, art supplies and decorations--)

Here are the boys. Cute, cute!
Jack's classic look. I. am. so. not. going. to. smile. for. you. right. now. mom.
What could be cuter than this picture above?
This one. I just love my boys. Especially when one of them drops their drawers...
HA! In the middle of the park.
Whatever. I had to pee mom! (really he's yelling at me to take him to the park)

I love this picture. I should include the close up of me and Ty. I'm squinting my whole face wondering if I'm going to get my skin burned off and Tyler's holding his ears. (we must both have anxiety issues.)
And Jeff ran to get it!

Jeff's Birthday Celebrations

We started Jeff's Birthday Bash on Friday with a Surprise BBQ! My parents ordered it for him so his friend helped me pick it up and I surprised him by telling him there was a snake in the driveway. I'm a horrible liar, but Tyler kept looking around for the snake! Finally, Jeff walked out and smiled!

I took a picture and Jeff said Zoom in! Of course, here's our dinner Rib-Eye stakes, up close and personal!
This is the cake I made him! I asked Tyler if we should make Daddy a soccer ball or a baseball hat and he said, "or a spider!" So, spider it is...
With pudding guts in the middle! It was mighty tasty! I love my Betty Crocker bake'n'fill pans!

April Fools!

I've seen recipes for these meatloaf cupcakes and have always wanted to try them. I decided April 1st would be the perfect time since Jeff's birthday is on Monday and we are already celebrating early this weekend. I brought them out before dinner, telling Jeff that Tyler's been wanting to sing to him all day. We sang and Jeff kept looking at me like I was crazy, I'm sure I had a goofy look on my face :)
He told me he was on a diet and cannot eat cupcakes for dinner, to that I was prepared (I knew he'd say that) and said it was a special wheat recipe and wouldn't be high in calories... He dipped his finger in the frosting and licked it... and then looked at me again... I started laughing and yelled "APRIL FOOLS!"
It was delicious! I used Grandma Clark's ground beef with sausage recipe, which is always good and with mashed potatoes on top, it was perfect! Plus, they only took about 25 mins to cook instead of over an hour.
Tyler ate his JUST like a cupcake, "frosting" first and the whole thing with his fingers. I'm glad I got to do something on this very weird holiday!

Spring Swap Fun!

I got my spring swap package today!! So excited. I LOVE doing these!

I made a quilted table runner with fun bright colors and flowers and put together easter baskets for my partner's kids. My camera was broken when I sent it off, so I don't have pictures, but I'll update it when she posts it on the Seasonal Swaperoos Blog!
I love having seasonal decor!

Our Weekend of Fun

We decided to fill our weekend with fun activities so I wouldn't miss my parents so much :)
On Friday, Jeff worked early so he could take the afternoon off and go to HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON.

Jeff has been telling Tyler we could go since the very first preview came out months ago! Tyler loved it and my favorite part was sitting next to him! He was hilarious. He'd giggle and oooh and laugh and scream, he got so into it.
--At one of the scary parts, he turned to me and said, "It ok, Mommy".
--At one point, all the dragons were hiding for an attack, it was silent as the people were waiting, and he said, "SHHH, dragons sleeping"
--The main character's father wasn't always very nice to his son, and Tyler had a good idea, "How 'bout the dragons bite daddy."
It was so funny that he was processing all the information and enjoyed it so much. Afterward, we picked up Jackson from the sitter and went to McDonald's for Happy Meals with dragon toys.
-- On the way driving there were birds in the sky. Tyler said, "Oh, there's dragons! But it ok, they nice ones."
What a fun day together!!
---------------------------------------
On Saturday, we went to the CIRCUS!
I found buy one, get one free coupons online and we had a fun time.

Tyler loved the animals, especially the Zebra. He kept saying, "Z for Zebra!" and even pretended he had to go potty to get out and see them again. Little stinker. No accidents that day, though!
It was a fun show, animal tricks, trampoline flips, trapeze artists, clown jokes. Fun stuff.
Tyler somehow snuck around the line and got a free pony ride!
----------------------------------------
On Sunday, we enjoyed church and naps and even got to dye some easter eggs! Tyler was fascinated by this process and I thought he would due to his love of color...
I told him, "good job, you dyed the eggs!" He said, "They not dead mommy, they just purple." Oh silly me.
We enjoyed egg salad sandwiches the next day and now I better go get another dozen for more!
Well, we missed you Mom and Dad, but I'm glad you didn't come last weekend, cuz then you'd be gone and I'd be sad. I still get to see you soon! :)

Missing you lots and lots especially today!

My mom and dad were supposed to come to visit this weekend, but one of my dad's best employees had surgery and is recovering, so Dad couldn't leave. Darn appendicitis.
Anyway, just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you and missing you and also a little bit feeling sorry for myself. Just a little...

So, here's a funny story with a little background for those of you who don't know my family. My parents own a grocery store that has been in our family since 1917: Wolfe's Market. It has delicious gourmet items you can only get at specialty stores and a beautiful deli of home-made meals that I miss all the time (especially when I'm pregnant, which I'm not by the way) and has a gorgeous mural on the wall. Anyway, it is always the second or third place we go when I visit home. I miss it often.
Growing up, there was really only one other grocery store in town. My friends were not allowed to shop there. Or tell me that you got something there. It was a swear word in our home. The place we are not allowed to step foot in. The place that we only go at desperate times, like when Jeff had a horrible cold sore and needed medication on the way to the mountains over Thanksgiving. We were having so much fun in the car waiting for him, that we snapped some pictures:

and then we noticed the V-word made it in our picture. Oops. Evidence.

There. Much better!! I don't remember how long we laughed in the car after this picture. A long time.

I love you MOM and DAD! Can't wait for the 4th or 5th week in April. We will have so much fun: Target runs, eating out, playing trains, catching up, carousel rides. I'm sure Jeff will try to find Avatar playing somewhere in a 50 mile radius, and if there is still time, planting flowers. As long as that doesn't get in the way of all of our other fun plans. Oh, and Hobby Lobby. Just for you dad.

Jackson's Walking!!

please please please turn your volume down. (I'm loud. We think it's genetic.) Or better yet, just mute your computer while you watch! :)

A funny conversation about Play-doh

"Wook Mom. Daddy boke it."
"Daddy broke your play-doh?" I asked and looked at the green glob of goo still in it's tub with a finger hole pocked in it.
"No, he just wanted to make a face... let's add another eye and a smile. Perfect!"
"Oh. YAY. You bixed it, mommy. Tanks."
"Yup, no prob buddy."
"I not buddy. I just Ty'yer."
"Oh that's right. Go show daddy your smiley face Tyler."
Tyler turned it upside down.
"Now it a bad 'miley face."
"You mean a frowny face?"
"No it bad cuz it hit baby and it on time out. Bad 'miley face."

Zach's Birthday Fun!!

So, I need to catch up!!
In the few days after diarrhea and before laryngitis :) where everyone was feeling good, and we were out and about. Zach, Tyler's best buddy turned 3. Their b-days are only a few days apart, so we usually do something special with them together.

They had so much fun on the carousal at Stone Briar Mall!
A cute shot of Becca and Zach!
Even Jackson joined in on the fun!
What an exciting day!!

More yummy bubble gum medicine

Well, I conquered the doctors office today (anyone else LOVE taking kids to the dr? I don't know how I could do it with another child, I think I'd need to pay a sitter or bribe my husband to come along or something). Anyway, found out Tyler has laryngitis, which is funny, because I can hear him JUST fine! But I am happy he'll be on antibiotics (the pink bubble gum kind. YUM!) and hopefully feeling better soon.
Jackson doesn't have an infection yet, but last time they got colds, Jackson followed suit and I took him in 2 days later for an ear infection. We'll see.
So, since my kids don't just lay around and watch movies and cuddle when they are sick (I wish!!) here are some fun pictures of my little sick cutie pies: (love all the snot?)

Tyler couldn't seem to keep his eyes open, we'll try again tomorrow.
That'll be the exciting thing I do tomorrow while confined to my messy little house. Take.good.picture.of.tyler. and
try to be nicer to Jeff. Sorry honey! No sleep=mean wifey. I love you!!

Sick, sick, sick

Well, the boys finally got over their stomach bug. Just in time to get another set of colds and I think Tyler has croup. Since Saturday night, he'd wake up periodically through the night with a super high fever, coughing and crying. Jackson's been waking up too, I think just uncomfortable and always in between Tyler's bouts making sure mom indeed gets no sleep at all. One night I stayed in our bed with Tyler- listening to him breath and Jeff slept on the couch with Jackson sleeping on his chest. We are in survival mode. Get through the day, get through the night...Planning to go the doctor today but I'm not happy with my current one so I think I'll switch try to find another doctor. Wish us luck!

Spring Cleaning!

So, we've been confined to the house for the past week due to diarrhea (not me, the kids-- you wanted to know that, right!) and today the boys finally got out to play! The weather was so crazy. Beautiful this morning, thundered, lightning-ed and poured for an hour or so (of course while I was loading/unloading the groceries), and then ended sunny and clear! Oh, I can see spring coming and I love spring! Especially in Texas; it's warming up and the weather is so fun and exciting.
We've been doing some rearranging and guess what?!! We're gonna have a playroom! Slash guest room. My parents are coming to visit at the end of the month so they will have a room all to themselves (along with all of our favorite toys just in case they get bored in the middle of the night) Jeff's work got an office now and so he moved his desk and computer over there. His Grandpa gave us his laptop (Grandma used to use it) so I still have one at home to use for... blogging! and emails and etsy and the such :)
So, be on the lookout for some pictures of our new room :)

here's my suggestions to a beautiful day:
do some {almost} spring cleaning (a cabinet, junk drawer, anything, it feels good!)
open the windows and air out the house
smell the flowers (or plant some)
listen to the rain (or turn on the faucet)
(I'm in a funny/weird mood)
and if you want something else to do, to celebrate spring, go here! I love doing these swaps, it's so fun to put together a package for someone and to get new holiday decorations and goodies!
