Pure Bliss

Today I got a pedicure. Oh it was so wonderful. I knew it was time when my socks were snagging on my scratchy dry feet. It's been a year since I got one and I forgot how wonderful your feet feel afterward. And the massage: heavenly. And the hour of magazine reading: wonderful. Thanks Tyler for taking a nap. And Jeff for doing office work at home during your lunch break. And to the Thomsons for watching Jackson. And Angel Nails for having an opening with only a 20 minute notice. Thank you. I needed it!

poop hurts...

All day today Tyler's been holding his bum and telling me his "biaper" hurts. I went to change his diaper but nothing was wrong. No rash, no poop, no nothing. I asked him where it hurt and he pointed to the tip of his you-know-what... that made me laugh a little cuz I knew that wasn't what had been bothering him. I asked him to show me where his boo-boo was and he pulled his leg up and pointed to his knee. and then his other knee. and then his elbow. and then his other elbow. Pretty much every boo-boo he's ever gotten. Of course I had to kiss each one and say "all better!"
Finally, by the end of the day (after lots of bapple juice) we took care of the problem! -just in case you were worried.

Watch'em Like-a Hawk!

Ok, so my toddler is now on the move to somehow squash/flood/torture my baby! The other day I turned just in time to see Tyler balancing on Jackson's stomach! His eyes almost popped out of his head as did mine. My first response was (screaming) "What are you thinking?" and then I lowered it to a two year old's perspective (still in shock) and said "do you want me to step on your stomach?" He said no... (as I was consolling Jackson and wondering if I should check for internal bleeding.) Oh boy. Then today, I see Tyler put his sippy cup in Jackson's mouth. As milk is running down Jackson's chin I remind Tyler he only drinks "special milk" and "we don't put ANYTHING in baby's mouth." Oh boy.
Attention CPS (and Grandmas): Both times I was RIGHT next to both children. Thank goodness. I cannot leave them alone. Ever!

Friday Five: Random Thoughts

  • My sister is engaged!! Yay for her. And yay for me because now I get a vacation: So. Cal, here I come!
  • I want to start learning about using coupons. I have seen so many blogs about what you can get (for example) from CVS for only $3.00. From one of these blogs, I learned that you can get reams of printer paper (500 sheets) for $1.00 from Staples. Go here. Do it. Stock up. I got 4 packs for less than $2 cuz I got a rewards card! I've already submitted my rebate online.
  • Tyler has 2 patches of dry skin on his cheeks. It looks funny and I feel bad for him. This morning we woke up and one side was cracked and looked bloody. He's had eczema cream on it all day. Now it is shiny AND red...
  • Jackson has had this random streak of fussiness. It just started this week and it is only at night. I lay him down and he wakes up every 1/2 hour or so. He's only happy when I walk around the house patting his bum. He even smiles at me! Until I set him down. Not fun- it gives me much appreciation for parents who have to deal with it 24 hrs. How do they do it?
  • I love love love our new house! I love the wood floors, and the clean carpet, and the space, and the kitchen! Love it.
  • I have been sewing a lot. Burp cloths, diaper clutches, tutus and lovies. I just finished a huge order and am working on a few gifts. We have lots of babies who were just born or are coming soon in our ward! Yay for babies.
Ok, so that was six, but hey, whatever. I'm trying to get back into my friday five again. Next week I'll try to do pictures!!

Brothers

Jackson (above) and Tyler (below)...See any resemblance?
When I get a scanner, I'll get Jeff & my baby pictures on here too. Some of Jeff's baby pictures look JUST like Jackson and some of his 2 year old pictures look EXACTLY like Tyler! It's so fun to see that! I'll try to post those sometime soon!

We love Fridays because...

...it's trash day!!
Seriously the highlight of Tyler's day. He runs to the door as soon as he hears them in our neighborhood and waits patiently until they're in sight. And then he talks about it all day; that he got to see the "trash truck". Well, its more like "ta tuh" but I know exactly what he is talking about!!

Growing growing

Not long ago, I was buying LUVs size 3 for my little Tyler. Yesterday Jackson graduated to size 3s and I can't seem to wrap my head around it! I know they last for awhile, but how does my newborn fit in the same diapers Tyler did just months ago?!

Tyler loves to point at Jackson and say "me baby"

My Thinking Space

We LOVE our new house and have been working hard to get all situated. This weekend, I focused on our bedroom and I finally have a space that makes me feel peaceful. Here's a sneak peek at our new house:
my favorite place to sit and think- (notice the little baby on the floor!)

Future Invention

I always feel guilty after I make a post with tons of words and no pictures. So here's a picture for those visual people out there (me included):
This is the way we usually take walks, unless I plan on taking a long walk where Tyler needs to be buckled. Otherwise, I like this arrangement and think that someone needs to invent a double stroller in this fashion. They've got side to side and front to back, but why not up and down?!
I really do like the double stroller my parents got us. It is Kolcraft's Contours Options (Tandem) and the seats are removable and can be facing inward or both forward and one seat can be replaced for the bars to hold a carseat. It's great! But the seats are still behind boxes in the garage. One of these days I am going to organize my garage and get them back!! and then I will take a picture to show you!

I LOVE Sundays!

Church doesn't start until 1 so we get all morning together. And now we have lots of light when we get home, so we love to play together!
Yesterday we set out to fly Tyler's new Buzz kite...
Whenever it would go down he would run after it
...and drag it back to start again.

Here we are sittin' on the maymee. (Every mailbox is a  mailman!)

2 Months Old!

Last week (amongst all the commotion of the move- hence the late post) I took Jackson to his 2 month check up. He is 13.10 lbs, and still growing! Doc says he is doing great and took his shots like a champ. I'm trying to find some solution for his super dry skin (that could turn into eczema if I don't take care of it-doctor's orders). Anyone have any favorite lotions for babies? He gave us a prescription for something to use from then neck down but his face his pretty dry. I've been using Eucerin and like it but he gets all peely about 1 hour later.
Jackson is my perfect sleeper. He is asleep by 11 and wakes up once until 7 am. He started this once we moved him into our closet and I've been brand new ever since! We have both slept great this last week. We are LOVING our new house- it just feels like our home now. I'll post some pictures as soon as I get a chance. For now, I've been doing one area at a time and slowly getting organized. Tyler's been great at playing by my side and Jackson watches us busily working!

King for a Day

For Tyler's birthday, we celebrated by doing all of his favorite things:
opening lots of presents...

playing with something dangerous (dry ice--daddy's present)

mowing the lawn with bubbles (he played with that for about 3 hours today!!)

ate hotdogs and cheese and of course, bapple juice (his favorites)

played in his new sand box with friends

slid down his new slide (thanks Atkinsons!)

got messy in the bath tub (a must after having sand in the diaper!)

he did a great job blowing out the candles...

and had a pretty funny looking frosting mustache to prove how yummy that cupcake was!

Singing Bappy Birthday...

This is the first time I have EVER posted a video on my blog. It takes me awhile to figure things out like this. We don't have a video camera so it is from my phone. I just found out I could email my videos to myself and then download them here.

Tyler and I have been singing songs at bedtime lately and the other night he just started singing along with me. The first time it happened I was laughing so hard I couldn't sing at all!
Today is Tyler's bday so we have been practicing all day long!! More bday pics to come!
